Today is the 70th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France.

Back in 2007, Carl Beck spoke to PBA30 for their documentary Atlanta Voices: Memories of WW II. On D-Day, he was a private in the 501st parachute infantry regiment and he spoke about his memories of the war.
