Marietta Square Hosting Annual July 4 Parade

After crossing the finish line on July 4, many runners in the Peachtree Road Race make a bee-line to Cobb County.

“People have made a tradition to run the race and then they come straight to the Marietta Square to watch the parade," says Maggi Moss, with Marietta’s Parks and Recreation Department.

The area’s “Let Freedom Ring Parade” starts at 1o a.m. and there’s plenty of festivities throughout the rest of the day.

“We have 80-plus arts and crafts vendors, 20 food vendors.  There’s going to be some non-profits giving out information about what they do in the area.  We have the kids’ area, which is the inflatables,” says Moss.

About 80-thousand attendees throughout the day.

Fireworks are expected to start around 9:30 p.m.
