Fulton County is trying to stop a scheduled R. Kelly concert from happening, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution.
The County commissioners have asked the county attorney to draft and send a letter asking for the cancelation of the concert to Live Nation, the entertainment company that operates Wolf Creek Amphitheater, where Kelly is set to perform. The request follows allegations that the R&B singer is holding women in an abusive "cult."
A Change.org petition is circulating that asks commissioners to cancel the contract with Live Nation for the show. The petition, organized under a #MuteRKelly campaign, had more than 900 supporters as of Aug. 2.
It aims to get radio stations to stop playing songs by and featuring the artist and to stop the Aug, 25 concert in Atlanta. Shows have already been canceled in New Orleans, Dallas, Baton Rouge and Los Angeles due to low ticket sales, Rolling Stone reported.
