Jun 13, 2017

Tuesday on "Closer Look with Rose Scott and Jim Burress":

  • 0:00: Rose and Jim give news briefs on the manhunt that’s underway for two escape George inmates, as well a federal judge in Georgia has ruled in favor of 29-year-old Jessica Colotl's protection, and temporarily restored her protection from deportation;
  • 2:48: Brenda Goodman, senior news writer  at WebMD, and Andy Miller, editor and CEO of Georgia Health News, have teamed up to study lead in Georgia's water systems;
  • 20:18: Mayte Garcia, ex-wife of the legendary artist Prince, has written a book about their relationship;
  • 36:51: David Baron, author of "American Eclipse," details the race to catch the shadow of the moon. The book tells the story of three historic characters and umbraphiles (those are folks who love eclipses and travel to watch them) and their efforts to be known as eclipse celebrities. On Aug. 21, the U.S. will see its first coast-to-coast solar eclipse in 99 years. Atlanta is in the path of a full black-out, which means we're seeing tourism increase months in advance.
