Kate Sweeney

A native of Pittsburgh, Kate Sweeney harbors a fondness for rusted-out architecture and real hoagies. Her radio stories have won her a number of Associated Press Awards and three regional Edward R. Murrow Awards.

Kate’s work appears regularly City Cafe with John Lemley. She also edits StoryCorps Atlanta and hosts from time to time. University of Georgia Press is publishing her first book, American Afterlife, in March 2014. She is a voracious listener to all sorts of creative radio, and adores the Third Coast International Audio Festival.
