Ammad Omar

Ammad Omar is an editor for NPR’s Morning Edition. He helps shape the show’s story ideas and programming focus.

He’s also appeared on various on-air segments across NPR, including roundtable discussions and letters segments on Tell Me More with Michel Martin, and newsmagazines including All Things Considered.

Prior to joining NPR in 2011, Omar worked worked at WBEZ Chicago Public Radio for more than five years, serving as the News Desk Editor, managing a team of reporters and interns, as well as being a host and producer.

Omar got his start in journalism in 2002 when he anchored the news for a satellite television station, Indus Vision, in Pakistan, which broadcast to more than sixty countries worldwide.

Omar graduated from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history.
